It's been a sad year for me; my beautiful, beloved wife Sue died last October and this is my first year without her. But it's been a great year for photography. This one is of young lovers at Perranporth, Cornwall, UK.

Yesterday's sunset at Gwithian, Cornwall, UK. I used to dislike Gulls when I lived by a large colony on a nearby roof. Now I love them, they're beautiful creatures. Positive comments about Gulls only, no negative comments please (although you can say what you like about my photography!).

This afternoon at sunset, Portreath from St. Agnes Beacon, Cornwall, UK. I was sat on a bench sipping a flask of tea, watching the sun go down, thinking how lucky I was. Even without a heated cushion and a choir of Angels singing it was still good.

Derwent Water, The Lake District last week. What a wonderful contrast after being in Cornwall for 4 years and not seeing any mountains. I love mountains so much, I was regularly to be seen gazing at them in amazement in between pressing the shutter. I last went 12 years ago but will definitely go back, as I got so many great images in only 4 days of photography. One of the top locations in the world to see Autumn at it's best.

Three Male Mallards and a Muscovy Duck, Truro, Cornwall. Such fabulous head feathers Male Mallards have, a magnificent effulgence of iridescent green, like the Kingfisher's beautiful flash of blue; but far more often seen.

Golitha Falls, River Fowey, Bodmin Moor, Cornwall, UK. One of my favourite photography locations anywhere; I always come away with something good, and this image is simply wonderful (modesty is weakness).

Dawn this morning at The Roseland from above Porthcurnick Beach showing Nare Head, Portscatho Lookout Station and Gull Rock, Cornwall, UK. One of the best dawns I've ever seen.

Some times life can be so beautiful; especially if you're somewhere wonderful. This little bird, (a Dipper) stood there for 10 minutes singing on one leg; I was enraptured. I took about 20 pictures and on the last one he stood on two legs before flying off. I spent hours here yesterday in photographic bliss. Golitha Falls, Cornwall, UK.
