BEST IMAGES OF THE YEAR; this was taken on 11th August 2019. This day had the best clouds I've seen for many years. Reflected on Godrevy Beach, Hayle, Cornwall.

BEST IMAGES OF THE YEAR; this was taken in May 2019. When I got to Wheal Coates (St Agnes, Cornwall) I was disappointed that the light wasn't better; I was hoping for strong side lighting. Yet this image is even better than the one I visualised! Using a professional  tilt/shift lens allowed me to get maximum sharpness, and also to avoid the Engine House from having that dreadful 'falling over backwards' distorted look that normal wide angle lenses have. Got to love those Sea Pinks!

BEST IMAGES OF THE YEAR; this was taken in March 2019. Not a spectacular image, but again the result of careful planning; I timed it so that I'd be the first person in there just as the tide was going out, to avoid footprints in the sand.

BEST IMAGES OF THE YEAR; this was taken in February 2019. I feel there's a better image to come from here, but this was a good start. The result of careful planning; I wanted side lighting on Wheal Coates, good waves and some of the beach visible. The people were an unexpected bonus which give the image scale. It started selling straight away.

Surfers and Seagulls; Sunset at Perranporth, Cornwall. What a great sunset it was. Managed to get some decent shots despite my tripod sinking slowly into the wet sand!

Autumn colour at #trebahgarden (near Falmouth) today

Thursday 7 November 2019

Perfect weather yesterday at Golitha Falls, Bodmin Moor - rain. My camera got as soaked as me but it was worth it!

Rock pattern on Gwithian Beach, near Hayle, Cornwall. I've been photographing rocks for almost 40 years; my friends used to joke about it, but recently they've been selling well to Hotels around the country, so I've had the last laugh!

Thursday 17 October 2019

Dawn this morning; soft rain and mist at St Clement, Truro, Cornwall. I don't normally take pictures in the rain as they're unlikely to sell, but this image definitely benefits from the rain; it adds atmosphere

Last night at Gwithian, near Hayle, Cornwall

Friday 11 October 2019

On rainy days it's good to look at sunny images; this was Porthminster Beach, St. Ives in June. Glorious! Apologies for my name being all over it, but sadly my images have been stolen so many times by people using them on their blogs or websites without permission. Their karma will get them, but I'd rather it didn't happen!

Thursday 3 October 2019

Last night at Cligga Head, Perranporth. The colour of these cliffs have to be seen to be believed! I had to wait some time for the sunlight, but it was well worth it. This wild part of the coast has rough paths close to the cliff edge, which means you almost get it to yourself

Tuesday 1 October 2019

Windy wonderful Wheal Coates this morning. Our local Yellow Dwarf Star wouldn't come out to play, but it was still a good start to the day

Yesterday at Wheal Ellen Mine; what a great setting in the valley. Near Porthtowan, Cornwall. Please share!

Last night at Wheal Peevor with a moody sky. Captured with an infrared camera (makes foliage turn white)

Tuesday 3 September 2019

Time marches on, but Cornwall is always beautiful! Taken 25 years ago at Porth Nanven. Photographed using 6x6cm slide film; 12 pictures on a roll. Had to use a light meter to get the correct exposure, manual focus, manual everything, tripod only. Send it off for developing and hope the images come out okay. Waiting for the slides to come back 7 days later certainly built up the anticipation!
